Oxford City Royal Regatta
Quart Sprint Eights
All Clubs who enter an eights event on Saturday, or any event on Sunday, at the regatta will be invited to enter the Quart Sprint Eight non-BR event on the same day. Invites will be sent out as soon as the Draw is published.
On the Saturday all Clubs with a Men's eight entered will receive an invitation to the Men's Quart Sprint Eights event and all Clubs with a Women's eight entered will receive an invitation to the Women's Quart Sprint Eights event. Both are held in the break between the morning and afternoon Divisions on part of the regatta course.
On the Sunday the format has changed to add a bit of variety, with now only a single Quart Sprint Mixed Eights event for mixed crews (of at least 4 female rowers). All rowers must be from the same Club. Invitations will be sent to all Clubs with at least 8 competitors racing that day once the Draw has been published. All crew members, including cox, must be from the same Club and must be racing in a normal regatta event on the Sunday. Each Club must provide their own eight to race in.
These are non-qualifying events which take place over approximately 350m on the Saturday and Sunday lunchtime.
Please note that the doubling up rules do not apply to Quart Eight Sprint crews since the event takes place over lunchtime only.
Cost of entry is £40 per crew (£5 per seat).
The winners of the Quart Eight Sprints will each receive a Quart Pot! Holding a massive 2 pints this is what they look like in comparison to the standard 1 pint pot:
