This squad includes junior athletes from 12 to 18 years old. The training emphasis is on good technique and training to race, and we have had good success in many events with some juniors going onto become National and International Champions. We train 4 times a week on average including Saturday and Sunday early mornings.
This squad includes all junior athletes, except Beginners. The training emphasis is on long term athlete development, good technique and training to race well. We train up to 6 times a week and this includes the famous Sunday morning heads. This squad has produced many national level crews and some international GB athletes. Recent results can be found in Results and Wins.
Junior Beginners Rowing Course
We run an annual Beginners course once a year, and we currently have vacancies for interested juniors aged 11-12.
There will be an introduction to the next course soon. This is a compulsory 1 hour session as a lead into our next course starting on 23rd September 2017 and the following 4 Saturday afternoons. This is run by several coaches assisted by many of the more experienced juniors. The emphasis in the first year is learning technique and becoming proficient in all the boats, especially the single. The course will cost £200 to include membership of the club until the end of the year 2017.
